Characteristic Properties Bending
- Stress Grade (parallel/perpendicular) – F14/F14
- Bending Strength (f’b) (parallel/perpendicular) – 36MPa/36MPa
- Moisture Factor (AS1720.1) k19 – 0.8
- Assembly Factor (AS1720.1)g19 – 1.0
Characteristic Properties Shear
- Stress Grade (parallel/perpendicular) – F14/F14
- Bending Strength (f’s) (parallel/perpendicular) – 4.8MPa/4.8MPa
- Moisture Factor (AS1720.1)k19 – 0.8
- Assembly Factor (AS1720.1)g19 – 0.4
Deflection
- Reduction Factor (ke) is adopted to allow for significant shear deflections
due to a low shear modulus and span to depth rations of less than 10:1 - ke – 0.75
- Standard Thickness Properties (see Niubride Construction Manual for more details)
Skew Decks
The above section properties are applicable when the NiuDeck panels are laid perpendicular to the girders. Skew decks are where the panels are laid at an angle other than perpendicular, requiring the section properties to factor in a higher proportion of cross gain veneer which effectively increases the girder spacing.
